Rev. Dr. Caesar Richburg

Senior Pastor


Dr. Caesar Roland Richburg, a native of Sumter, S.C. is the senior pastor of Bethel A.M.E. Church in Columbia, S.C., where he has served since November 2017.

Previously, Dr. Richburg served as pastor of Williams Chapel A.M.E. Church in Orangeburg, S.C. for 11 years. Other churches he has pastored include: Allen Temple AME in Greenville, S.C., Benton Avenue A.M.E. in Springfield, Missouri, Friendship AME Church in Summerton, S.C., and Mount Lebanon A.M.E.  in Due West, S.C.

Dr. Richburg is Claflin University and University of Missouri alumnus. He earned  Master of Divinity Degree in Theology from Saint Paul School of Theology and a Doctor of Ministry Degree from Hood Theological Seminary.

Dr. Richburg is married to Ella Gadsden Richburg, and they have three daughters: Felicia (Calvin), Kendra (Kevin) and Tiffany and one grandson, Peyton.


Rev. Cole Weathers

Associate Minister


Rev. Cole Weathers has faithfully served as the assistant pastor at Bethel for more nearly 20 years. He leads Noon Day Bible study on Thursdays where he is intentional about teaching every book of the Bible.

His earned degrees include: a bachelor’s in Business Administration from Allen University, a master’s degree in Social Work from Fordham University and a master’s degree in Biblical Studies (with distinction) from Trinity Theological Seminary. 

The Eastover, South Carolina native enjoys singing and ministering with the Singing Cavaliers.


Rev. Betty Wannamaker

Associate Minister & Executive Assistant to the Pastor


Rev. Betty Wannamaker is the executive assistant to the pastor and serves as the secretary of the Columbia Conference Women In Ministry (WIM). 

She has earned a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management from Claflin University, a master’s in Community Counseling from Webster University and a certificate in Theology at the Interdenominational Theological Center.

A native of Swansea, South Carolina, Rev. Wannamaker has two adult daughters, Latasha and Sabrina.

Rev. Chaunte' McClure

Associate Minister & Dir. of Christian Education


Rev. Chaunte McClure is an associate minister and Director of Christian Education.

She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from the University of South Carolina and Master of Divinity degree from Erskine Theological Seminary. 

She is married to Stanley who faithfully serves in the Audio/ Visual ministry and is a proud member of the U.S. military.

Rev. Beverly Manigo

Associate Minister


Rev. Beverly Manigo has a passion for prayer and intercession and is a faithful member of the Intercessory Prayer Ministry. 

She is a native of Baltimore, Maryland. Prior to joining the ministerial staff at Bethel, she served as a teacher both in children’s church and new members’ ministries, a Steward, and a youth leader in the A.M.E. Church. 

Rev. Manigo has a bachelor’s in Elementary Education, a master’s in School Administration; an Education Specialist Degree in K-12 Leadership, and a Master of Divinity degree.  She is married to Karlus, her husband of nearly 30 years.

Rev. James Wesley Dennis, III

Associate Minister


Rev. James Wesley Dennis III is the College & Young Adult Minister and the Minister of Ministries for the 7th Episcopal District.

The Brookhaven, Mississippi resident is a devout preach, profound speaker, and academic scholar.

He is a graduate of Morehouse College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion. In addition, Rev. Dennis earned a Master of Divinity degree from Vanderbilt Divinity School.

A dedicated foodie, Rev. Dennis is passionate about great music, good books, and conversations with family and friends.

Rev. Norman Duckett

Associate Minister


Rev. Norman Duckett is the Minister of the Live, Love, & Learn Ministry, Bethel's seniors' ministry.

He is a native of Philadelphia, PA, and an ordained local elder. He completed his studies at Philadelphia Biblical University with Cum Laude honors and received a Bachelor of Science in Bible, with emphasis on Christian Leadership. 

A proud military veteran, Rev. Duckett served honorably in the U.S. Army for 10 years. He relocated to Columbia, SC in 2009 and has served on the ministerial team since his arrival.

Rev. Duckett is the father of three adult children, Christopher (deceased), Norma, and Brian, with his late wife. He now serves faithfully in ministry with his wife Carolyn.

Bro. Reggie McKnight



A native of Florence, S.C., Licentiate Reggie McKnight is a graduate of Benedict College having received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. Lic. McKnight is pursuing a Master in Divinity in addition to matriculating through the Columbia Conference Board of Examiners.

He serves as the Eau Claire Community Council President and several other community organizations in various leadership capacities.
