Goal 2022: Connecting, promoting, and engaging YOU as emerging leaders and followers who enrich the Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church and communities.


SERVICE

Objective: Service. To help YOU help Bethel become a contemporary Church.

SOCIAL JUSTICE

Objective: Social Justice. To help YOU apply the Quadrennial Theme 2016 – 2020: “The African Methodist Episcopal Church: A Social Justice and Liberating Faith.”

PERSONAL GROWTH

Objective: Personal Growth. To help YOU navigate the COVID-19 pandemic.

Officers 2022-2023


YOU Officers:
All Officers should pray and read their bibles regularly as well as attend Church Services. As Bethel’s Young Adults, you are leaders called upon to set an example for others to follow.

President: 

  • Coordinate and facilitate Ministry and Officers Meetings with Ministry Director.
  • Prepare agenda for Meetings.
  • Provide a report for Ministry and Officers Meetings, if applicable.
  • Submit Quarterly Conference Reports to Church Administrative Assistant.
  • Attend Quarterly Conference meetings held by Presiding Elder (Columbia Conference).
  • Publish ‘Monthly Articles’ on Bethel’s website and social media (FB, Twitter, etc.).
  • Attend Columbia Conference and 7th Episcopal District Richard Allen Young Adult Council (RAYAC) meetings.

Vice President: 

  • Attend Ministry and Officers Meetings.
  • Help facilitate all Meetings and agendas.
  • Facilitate meetings as requested by President.
  • Attend RAYAC meetings with President.

Recording Secretary: 

  • Attend Ministry and Officers Meetings.
  • Record and make available Meeting Minutes.
  • Keep membership roster and attendance.
  • Help prepare and submit announcements to Bethel’s Administration 2‐3 weeks in advance.

Corresponding Secretary: 

  • Attend Ministry and Officers Meetings.
  • Have a report for Meetings if applicable.
  • Submit correspondences for Bethel’s Public Relations.
  • Obtain and read the Monthly Bethel Birthday Card.
  • Read the card on Second Sunday.

Treasurer: 

  • Attend Ministry and Officers Meetings.
  • Have a report for Meetings if applicable.
  • Obtain treasury reports from Church Finance Committee.
  • Collect and track funds and fundraising monies.

Parliamentarian:

  • Attend Ministry and Officers Meetings.
  • Have a report for Meetings if applicable.
  • Keep order; follow Meeting tasks and agenda.
  • Follow and implement Robert’s Rules of Order.

Worship Leader:

  • Attend Ministry and Officers Meetings.
  • Have a report for Meetings if applicable.
  • Lead devotions, including Song, Scripture, and Prayer.
  • Provide Closing Prayer at all Meetings.

Historian:

  • Attend Ministry and Officers Meetings.
  • Have a report for Meetings if applicable.
  • Maintain and submit all historical records as required.
  • Submit articles, if applicable, to Public Relations.
  • Photograph Ministry events.
  • Provide historical facts for annual Church events.

  • Create and sustain a vibrant YOU ministry with young adults.
  • Help YOU achieve your goal and objectives.
  • Advocate for the young adults of Bethel and in the Bethel Community.
  • Engage YOU members to embrace their opportunities to serve and to apply their God-given talents and gifts.
  • Work closely with the Pastor, the Church Staff, Ministries, and families in fulfilling these responsibilities.

TEAMS & CLUBS 2021

Join a team or club or suggest a new group.


  1. Monthly Birthday Announcements from Bethel – This announcement is planned and delivered by the Corresponding Secretary.
  2. Social Team – This committee plans social events for YOU.
  3. Service Team – This committee identifies YOU who are serving a particular role in Bethel.
  4. Community Team – This committee identifies and organizes community activities.
  5. Recruiters – This team recruits others to join YOU.
  6. College Club – This club consists of all college students.
  7. Alumni Day – This team will work with the Young People and Children’s Division (YPD) of the Women’s Missionary Society (WMS) to plan this event every two (2) years.
  8. Y Club – This club consists of YOU who are YPDers ages 19-27.
  9. Scholarship Night – This team will work with other teams of the Church to plan this annual event involving all members.
  10. College Day – This team will work with other teams of the Church to plan this annual event involving all members.
  11. Career Day – This team will work with other teams of the Church to plan this annual event involving all members.
